Rules and Regulations

 

1.    The Renter must select an available bar package through The Brighton Events. No outside liquor is allowed on site without purchasing an additional package (Table Wine), or selecting the corkage package. If the corkage package is selected, it is subject to all AGLC rules, and must be removed at the end of the event. If the remaining liquor is not removed within the contractual time frame, Brighton Events accepts no liability for its care, and it is subject to a $500 fee for pick up and is subject to availability. Pick up must be scheduled through Brighton Events.

2.    Any additional décor items, subject to approval, including candles, to be included in set up completed by Brighton Events must be complete. This means no stickers and/or wrapping and no assembly required.

3.    Brighton Events has glassware, tableware, and cutlery available for rent. Set up and bussing is available for an additional fee.

4.    Any last- minute changes or requests must be approved by the Day of Coordinator

6.    The Brighton Events staff does not assist with any loading or unloading of personal/rental items or moving them on the day of the Event unless Set Up services are booked.

7.    The caterer is responsible for their garbage and to scrape off as much food of plates and cutlery as possible.

8.    For those who have booked the Silver or Pearl Package, clean-up is included to cover everything deemed reasonable.

9.    Payment is to be made via e-Transfer to etransfer@brighton.events or via cheque or credit card. For credit card payment there is a 3% fee.

10.  The Renter is required to provide a Private Event liquor license and their bar menu choices 30 days before their Event.

12. The Renter may not  use an external rental company to rent items that the Company is able to provide unless they are aesthetically different. Ex. We have Bentwood chairs in black, but the Renter would like brown. This is acceptable.  

13. Unless otherwise included, the Renter must remove all garbage and recyclables from inside the Property and dispose of them properly.

14. Lost and Found. The Company takes no responsibility for personal effects and possessions left on the premises during or acer the Event. A lost and found will hold recovered items up to ten (10) days. An appointment must be made with Elizabeth via e-mail to arrange to pick up the items at hello@brighton.events

15. The Renter agrees to provide a meal for any staff working during the dinner hour. If the package booked includes an on-site coordinator, the coordinator is to be given a seat during the reception if it is a sit-down reception. The dinner must be the same meal that is served to guests. If, due to event scheduling requirements, there are other staff members on site during dinner, they are to be provided a meal, though not a seat at a table. 

16. All packages include a security guard. The Renter will provide the guest list, a copy of the invitation, and/or other pertinent information 30 days in advance of the Event. This information will be shared with our third- party security company as needed to ensure the safety of the guests.

17. There will be no smoking of any substance on the premises except for outside in permitted areas.

18. Rice, flowers, confetti, or other items intended for being tossed are not allowed in the venue without written permission from Brighton Events.

19. Only Service Animals may enter the Brighton Block building.

20. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. There are no babysitting services available.

21. Damages will be charged to the credit card on file. Damages include but are not limited to:

a.    Any damage to the Brighton Block Building or property, inside or out.

b.    Broken or damaged furniture or rentals including arches, glassware, plate ware, tables, etc.

c.     Lost or stolen items.

d.    Toilets plugged or damage due to guest misuse (no tampons are to be flushed).

22. Absolutely no one except Brighton Events staff are allowed behind the bar under any circumstances.

23. Access to the storage room is not included for any purpose in any bookings.

24. Absolutely no cooking on site without written approval from Brighton Events. A fine of $500 or a cleaning fee combined with this fine is applied if this rule is broken.

25. The thermostat may not be touched/changed by the Renter or their guests.

26. The last call for the service of alcohol must be made a minimum of thirty (30) minutes prior to the end of the reception and must comply with all AGLC rules.

27.  The Company will maintain a list of Prohibited Vendors on their website. The Renter agrees not to bring in any vendors from the Prohibited list into the building. The Renter may hire the vendors for their own services outside the venue, but Prohibited Vendors cannot work in or on the venue premises.

28.  The Company will not tolerate rude, aggressive, racist, or obnoxious behavior and reserves the right to cancel the Event if such behaviour cannot be de-escalated. If such behavior occurs during the Event, the person or persons involved may be removed from the Property and no refunds will be provided by the company.

29. The Company must have someone tending bar and overseeing all liquor consumption throughout the liquor consumption period. If the Renter’s guests become intoxicated beyond safety, the Company reserves the right to shut down the bar. If the Company observes unauthorized consumption of alcohol anywhere off the Property or within the Venue, the Company will confiscate the liquor and has the right to remove the guest(s) from the property.

30. Consumption of alcohol by minors at the Venue is strictly forbidden.

31. The Renter is responsible for advising all persons attending the Event of the rules respecting alcohol service and consumption and the Renter is responsible for enforcing these rules at all times while the Renter has access to the Property. 

32. An auto-gratuity of 18% will be applied to the final bar bill and will go directly to bartenders. Alternately, a tip jar may be placed out for the energy of the event. If a minimum of 18% hasn't been provided in the tip jar, the Renter will top up the tips to reach that amount.

33. The use of sparklers is not permitted without written permission.

34. The use of oil-based smoke machines is not permitted.

 

 

 

Event Deadlines

1.    Any requests or plans to affix something to a surface in the venue must be provided in writing a minimum of 15 days before an event, with the removal plan, and are subject to approval. Any damages will be repaired by the venue and not the Renter. An estimate for the repairs will be sent to the Renter to be paid in advance of the repair work, and the final amount, if higher, will be applied to the credit card on file, if lower, will be refunded.

2.    The caterer must provide a photo of their insurance and food-handling permit thirty (30) days prior to the Event. This information is to be emailed to hello@brighton.events

3.    The final Event layout as well as all Furniture & Decor choices must be submitted in writing via e- mail thirty (30) days prior to the Event. Any submissions after the deadline may be subject to a fee. All layouts are subject to the basic layout requirements provided on the website and listed at the bottom of this document in Appendix A.

4.    For packages including a per-item rental, final guest count changes must be submitted in writing at least seven (7) days prior to the Event. 

5.    The decor, rentals, vendors, guest list, and final schedule for the event all need to be submitted in writing (via e-mail) to both the coordinator and Elizabeth 30 days before the event. Any changes submitted after the fact may be subject to a fee."

6.    Music playing on the balcony must be turned off by 11:55PM. 

7.    Due to limited storage, nothing may be dropped off before an event, or stored on site after an event.

8.    Absolutely no food or florals can be dropped off before the contract start time on the day of the Event.

9.    All items not provided by Brighton Events must be removed from site in full after an event unless tear down services are booked.

10. All event guests and vendors must leave by the event end time.
